Model “AM” The Rest of Her:
Today I spent another day painting “AM”. She was in the same pose as last week’s painting of her, that I posted here. This week I painted all of her. Last week I ignored her very long legs. She is a very tall thin woman, as you can see. I also painted in all of the dead flowers that were set up with the pose. Last week, they too were mostly ignored.
For most of the time I was painting “AM” today, there seemed to be a competition taking place between The basket of flowers and “AM” over which would become the center of attention. The dead flowers were winning for a while, until, in the last half hour of the pose, I pushed them into the background. But by then, “AM” was pretty tired, and my effort to establish a smile, and more excitement in her face, was not very successful.
16”x20” Acrylic on framed gesso coated hardboard.
I wonder if you were also bored with the pose which made you focus on the flowers? Interesting, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI can't get over her legs. You did a beautiful job with them! Her muscle tone is exquisite, and I love the angle of her right leg. That perspective is so difficult to capture, but you did it masterfully. Bravo!
ReplyDeletevery nice I like especially the pose and the colours!
ReplyDeleteYou're truly talented! Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the visit. :)
ReplyDeleteSusan: Actually I liked the pose. It was a case of avoidance. I found the basket and flowers easier to tackle. I would do a little of the figure and then touch up the flowers again. Eventually I had to finish her. After all, she had the harder pose.
ReplyDeleteNicole: Thank you. Her long legs were hard to ignore. They with her crossed arms defined the pose.
Nouvelles couleurs, Laura: Thank you. I liked the pose too.
Mandy: Thank you for visiting and the wonderful comments.
Oh, this is very nice. Very.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
