Legs in the Rain
Looking out through the rain
Remembering
A crowded street
In Edinburgh
Woman together
Under umbrellas
Dark grays and blacks
Above flush pink poles
Legs in the rain
The image left enough of an impression for this drawing, early in the morning, looking out at the rain.
Just doodling, waiting for the day to begin.
3.5”x5” ink on card stock
love this one, especially that blush of color.

this begs story in every direction. i can't imagine the community between these women. i have to think either, family, or some event has drawn them together. i can not imagine such closeness for any other reason. this is beautiful, anthony, full bodied.

Erin: I would have liked to be within, covered by the umbrellas, maybe invisible. They were all young women, girls to me, hanging along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, during the Fringe. The rain was attempting to put a damper on the festive day. This is how I remember them. I have photo somewhere, but sometimes the image remembered, is so much better than what a camera recorded a few months ago. Our memories are usually more vivid.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
