To Start
A stein, bottle and ashtray. I guess these
can go together. Someone thought so when placing them together in this setting
to pose. I questioned the ashtray being used to hold the bottle. But I guess some
purpose had to be found, now that smoking isn’t cool.
They would go together as
a way to start the evening, only a few years ago, some places in this world.
Today I used pastel. I was a little surprised
how much the piece ended up looking like a painting.
17”x 14” Pastel on sanded Bristol paper
Vos couleurs sont généreuses et j'aime la manière dont vous avez travaillé votre fond. Vos ombres sont superbes et contrastent bien avec la lumière qui règne somptueusement sur votre oeuvre.
ReplyDeleteBravo Anthony!
Gros bisous
this is a very good work, I bekome the want to paint still-life too...
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a painting. The "white" along the top look like light reflection off the paint. I think you should be able to pose your own still life.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful piece. It most definitely does look like a painting! Maybe it's all the colors blended so nicely? Not sure.
ReplyDeleteAn ashtray is indeed an odd place to put a bottle, but they do look like they go together quite well.
Nicely done, Anthony :)
martinealison: Thank you. This is my first still life in pastel
ReplyDeletenouvelles couleurs, Laura: Thank you. A good still life depends on who models.
Wine and Words, Annie: You noticed the white. I should have covered the areas better. I can set up my own still life, but it’s more fun though to share, and complain about the choices made later.
Phoenix: Thank you.. I agree, the ashtray was a little odd.
