These are the kinds of scenes that elicit a sense of melancholy and loneliness in me. I feel so separated, just a watcher. But hey, what is art without an emotional response :)
ReplyDeleteEmotional responses are everywhere. There is art in emotions, in loneliness, in people walking alone, together, in friends laughing over a meal. It’s all art. Think about the gifts you have to express so well these emotions. Most can’t.
DeleteI like watching and drawing, or thinking of drawing people in setting like this. Sometimes memories are sparked. More often than not my curiosity takes over and I get lost picking out characters and fabricating stories for them. In this case it was the waitress and the women in the foreground who wouldn’t stop looking at me, as I tried not to be so obvious as I photographed them.
Being in the present helps… Now you have me remembering how long its been since I’ve had pizza with someone at this place, just down the street…
