Previous Cast

Previous Cast

They wait within a void
I can not reach them
Like today I tried again
Could not find a way in
Like today on the outside
Their colors continue to fade
Like today I pretend my sails
Capture an old purple wind
Like today I pretend the opening
A soft light lets me in
Like today I see naked bodies
The sun makes love to them
Like today I pretend again
To be with the previous cast

Islands off Solitude
This painting has been hanging around for a couple of weeks. This morning I spent a few more hours, moving paint around.

You know I’ll end up doing many more of these. It’s my way of returning to magical place too..

I really love this...the colours are superb, the figures sublime...I would do almost anything to have the ability to step into this ethereal landscape and explore...

It would be nice if we could step back into places and be with the cast now only available in memories, and maybe images we create.

Your words are perfect...I especially loved the lines, "Like today I see naked bodies...The sun makes love to them"~~~

  5. Beautiful painting!

    I Love the line,
"I pretend my sails capture an old purple wind."

The use of "capture" for instance, instead of catch, illustrates just how much depends on a word.

You are so insightful.. At one point during editing, the wind was catching my sails…
