With Children

With Children

I resist the crowd now
I notice
When I am surrounded
When escape is difficult

I embraced the crowd then
I noticed
When for the children
Abundant space emerged

I remember the crowd now
I notice
When need to flee looms
When left again alone

Sketched in some corner avoiding the crowd
3.5”x 6” fountain pen

  1. It's good to be in your own world with and without crowd...and children always have more space, because they have less limitation of it...~ love the idea...painting seems not completed yet ?

    1. It’s a comfortable place to be, in your own world, usually☺
The sketch is the beginning. A concept sketch will follow and then probably a painting, someday….
      Thank you

  3. yes I think children take the space they need, surrounded or not, matters not, but I would be running away from so many, I love your words even more

    1. Children do change how we deal with the world. When they grow up and leave, being so much older, there is a void. And going back to being young and as flexible isn’t usually in the cards.
      Thank you

  4. Another masterpiece, Anthony!
So deep...there is more and more to be found in there, the more intently we look.
Crowds scare me...this is powerful stuff...I FEEL the closing in...
