Standing Short Poses of "E"

Standing Short Poses of “E”
The sketches here were from two to fifteen minute warm up poses. This morning the warm up went better than the main events.
Both: 24”x 18” graphite on paper

  1. It's amazing really Anthony that you manage to keep the proportions accurate when it would be so much easier to just draw different characters, must be quite the challenge, nevertheless you succeeded, bravo!

    1. The main purpose of drawing from the model, especially in the short poses is to practice getting familiar with the proportions and her look.
      Thank you

  2. I love how you convey such emotion in your sketches.
In the first, there is an overwhelming sense of anguish...she has received such a shock and is struggling to come to terms with it.
In the second, she is totally different...is light-hearted, enigmatic...seems to be teasing the observer...is saying, "I know something you don't"*smiles*
    These are wonderful :)

Part of the fun of these sessions is interpreting each pose. I do like placing a number of poses on one page like this, for the story my imagination makes up with the interaction.

I’m not sure, have not considered putting warm up sketches in a show.
