A Matter of Scale

A Matter of Scale

I was back off one of my islands again. This painting has been on my easel for a couple of weeks, being worked on from time to time. Today I think it’s done. The painting is loosely based on a small watercolor posted in March with the same title.
36”x 24” acrylic on stretched canvas

  2. I really liked this one before...now, in it's enlarged form, I like it even more!
Oh I WANT to be here...isolated in that deep azure sea, lost among the tall pines.
I can't help but wonder what secret hideaway lies hidden in their cool and shady depths...:)

    1. Thank you. I tend to favor the first, or original sketch, even after the many hours spent to do a finished larger painting. There is less excitement when repeating the same idea. It sort of shows☺
There are hidden places within the trees.. I know. I used to visit them.

    1. This version of the painting is larger. Maybe the next version needs to be larger yet, maybe large enough to hide within?
Of course the other option is to return to where such memories began.
