Just Off Shore

Just Off Shore

Drifted along this favorite shore
Again
Caught in the drama
Of fountain pens
That skipped
And water pens
That spilled

Remembered kneeling
Floating free
In a yellow canoe
Just before
Or after
A thunderstorm

This took place so far away
From this isolated studio
This attempt to be
Just off
A favorite shore

I used general purpose water soluble black and blue calligraphy ink. The colors caused by the water brush were a pleasant surprise.
Islands Off Solitude

  1. Your sketches are just amazing. Did you do a lot of it as an architect. Just fabulous.

Yes for almost 40 years most of my sketching was related to architectural business.

  4. There is such longing to reach this shore...and begin exploring.
What lies on it's far side, I wonder?
Perhaps an even greater magic than I could ever imagine...I am already creating a boat in my mind...;)

    1. The longing to reach the shore, even after years of exploring, doesn’t go away.
No need to create a boat. You can join me in the yellow canoe☺
