Neptune and Triton




Neptune and Triton

The second of three sculptures I sketched this morning at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The sculptor was Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini. He completed it in 1622 or 23.
9”x 12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper

  3. Ah...the power of Neptune...the Water God cannot be defeated...is forever the victor!
    I love how evocatively you have sketched him...every muscle, every inch of his body screams "POWER"! :)
