Peasant Woman Nursing Baby

Peasant Woman Nursing Baby

I was at the Victoria and Albert Museum this morning sketching sculptures. The sketch here is of a sculpture by Aime- Jules Dalou (1836-1902).
One of my favorites at the V&A.
9”x 12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper

  1. Bonjour Anthony,

    Gros bisous ♡

    1. Thank you
Sketching is a good way to feel, to touch the beauty of so many things, especially the art preserved in these museums..

  3. After reading Lorraine's comments, there isn't much more I can add...except the extreme tenderness you have captured with an intensity that brings a lump to my throat.
Oh this is SO, SO, beautiful. :)

    1. The sculpture really is wonderful.. Just getting the basic likeness, I think, easily draws this praise.
      Thank you
