Dance and Contemplation

Dance

Contemplation

The life drawing sessions at the local art center have started once again. I have missed them over the summer.
Above are a few poses provided by “E” Today.
I was feeling a little rusty.
1st: 17”x 14” ballpoint pen
2nd: 9”x 12” fountain pen and chalk on toned grey paper

  1. Bonjour cher Anthony,

L'heure de la rentrée a repris pour vous...
Une belle danse que celle de vos lignes qui s'emmêlent pour mieux séduire.
J'aime beaucoup le mouvement que cela produit dans votre premier dessin. Vraiment très réussi et très sensuel.

    Gros bisous ☼

    1. Yes, it’s nice to be drawing from life again.. I do like doing the multiple images, especially with ink. I can create my own crowd..
      Thank you

  2. You've named them well, it's what I see and feel, I hope I never miss a day ...I'd miss so much

    1. Yep, the same model, a lot of short poses.
      Thank you

  5. You certainly don't seem 'rusty' to me...these are wonderful!
In 'Dance' I can really feel her movement...found myself tapping my foot and wanting to get up and dance too.
And 'Contemplation' had me wondering what she was contemplating...there seems a sadness in her pose and her beautiful face. I felt a powerful urge to step in and hug her...

    Yes...these are wonderful...:)

    1. I was correcting more than usual, which accounts for the many extra lines. I’m sure “E” would have liked to have been dancing rather than holding still for all the short poses I sketched onto the page.
For Contemplation, I just had to draw her as she acted out the role.
      Thank you.
