Sleep

Sleep

Not tired
Just an escape
A routine pursuit
To places hidden
Behind armor
A bare façade
Contrived
Vulnerability
Portrayed

Another sketch of “D” from yesterday.
Both: 12”x 9” fountain pen and pastel on toned grey paper

  1. Yes...thought so...her left side is finished and she has turned right over now, to tan her right side...and now has fallen asleep...leaving her rather vulnerable...;)

    1. A plausible interpretation, I suppose. I viewed her sleeping, escaping to a place the crowd can’t reach..

  2. That's mostly the way I sleep now, never have before, aging I guess everything hurts, but she doesn't look in pain, I'm glad
'an Escape routine pursuit' hits the mark for me...sometimes i think you read minds, you seem to read mine so often....

    1. I start out each night the same way.
Sleep has become a reliable escape lately from the crowd and their expectations. I pretend to read minds often☺
      Thank you

  3. Indeed, escape, to get back to real me, yes? Provoking idea...

    1. To escape, I sleep so much more now than when I was young.
