Refusing the Wallpaper

Refusing the Wallpaper

“SH” posed today for a costume figure session in a wig of plastic flowers. This is what I sketched based on one of her poses.
18”x 24” pastel on colored paper.

  1. Extraordinary her she is fabulous and the background that she doesn't want is fantastic; angels and flowers and she is oh so not that kind of woman! Man, she's not that kinda woman....lol, I love this Anthony, Bravo!!!

    1. Her expression, I agree, does seem out of place.
      Thank you

  2. I so love this, Anthony!
I am truly amazed at your skill...how you have her appearing to emerge out of the wallpaper.
She is a part of it...yet is a separate entity...for me, a character from a fantasy movie...:)

    1. Thank you
I was having trouble figuring out how to show the flowers making up her wig. It lead to the idea of wall paper, or a fairy within a flowerbed. Wallpaper is how it ended, growing out of her wig. I’m sure there is a story this could turn into.. My head has been contemplating ever since.

    1. Yes she has a flower wig for each season. She was wearing her fall wig for the session, with many colored leaves mixed in with the flowers. She said her winter wig has lots of holly with poinsettias and such.
      Thank you
