Searching

Searching

I’m not sure what was being searched for, maybe attitude, maybe more. “J” provided a number of poses attempting to figure out what we who were sketching her were trying to find, in yesterday’s costume figure session.
1st and 2nd: 9”x 12” fountain pen, oils sanguine and chalk on toned paper
3rd and 4th: 17”x 14” ballpoint pen

  1. Bonjour cher Anthony,

Quelle production !... Je reste émerveillée devant chacune de vos oeuvres. Moi qui travaille si lentement, j'ai honte !

    Gros bisous ☼

    1. Models will only put up with me for so long. I have to work fast.
Working slower obviously based on your wonderful paintings, is the way to go..
      Thank you

  2. Yes, maybe attitude...or perhaps memories reawakened of past times, or even past lives...oh the possibilities are endless, but I am put in mind of Roman times...:)

    1. Roman times? Must be the skirt, maybe her hair.. Sometime I wish she would model with a wig. Her boyish features are a challenge to keep feminine.

  3. In the beginning it looks like she's look for coins to put in the washing machine, then she pauses, decides to lie down until maybe someone shows up with change,it's so frustrating the machine is always busy all my clothes are dirty, me, that's probably why I interpret it this way. let me forget my dirty clothes and look at it again, without laundry in mind. She just finished washing herself by the look of he towel under her arm, she gets her closet and she has no idea what to wear, and there's a funny clown looking at her...which she kicks(I added that part) and then she really really doesn't want to go although she is disgusted by the huge bugs so she sprays them dead...now she has to find more things to kill, she doesn't want to do anything else. And she won't clean until they're all gone....forgive my weird interpretation, but a can that size, she's not putting perfume on...unless it's coke and she hesitates, she promised herself no more coke, too many calories...I can think of 50 stories...geesh

    1. Wow, a lot to take in☺ I should place these images as a comic strip and have you fill in the narrative. It’s interesting how our daily thoughts can so easily influence the drama others show. All of the scenarios noted are plausible..
You have provided this search a direction to go. I should probably sketch in a laundry room in each of the backgrounds☺
      Thank you

  4. Perhaps, you're searching for the border line where feminine energy turns to masculine...we all have those hormones...you know... not always exactly in a balance....

    1. Perhaps.. I must admit, my search is only visual.. She looks like the attractive woman she is. It’s my inability to capture what I see. Some days I do get closer☺

  6. I hate laundry machines, they never wash properly and it's always wet after drying, and it costs a fortune...this comment is unrelated to what is happening in the islands.
