Hiding the Horizon

Hiding the Horizon

How close I was,
practically crossing
between here and there.
That opposing invitation
behind her,
hindering the view,
just enough
to disappear.

“J” was the model this morning at the drop in life drawing session. I’ve sketched this view of her so often over the past year.
This is the first time of course, in the New Year.

  1. Yes, she is hiding the horizon...but is also part of it - it would be lonely without her.
I love how every muscle in her back is perfectly defined
I realise I have said this many times before, but you really are so talented, Anthony! :)

    1. Yes, I’m not sure I would want one without the other, though wouldn’t know what I was missing if she wasn’t there.
      Thank you

    1. She’s only hiding the horizon at the moment. I assumed she was on the islands I am viewing her from☺
      Thank you

  3. Love the words and sketch of course...Today words underline the idea of resistance for me....why we're avoiding something when it's so desirable....

    1. Thank you.
Maybe at some point we become to easily programmed to not getting what we want.
