Over A Shoulder

Over A Shoulder

Almost invisible,
a distraction,
until there is more
than him.

A sketch of “P” from one of his poses, yesterday morning, looking away from the light.
12”x 9” fountain pen, oil sanguine and chalk on toned paper

  1. What is there, over the shoulder....hmmm..behind him? - maybe a dog, pulling the leg....or ahead - someone/something calls him to come closer....so many variations here...

  3. He's looked over before he knows exactly what's there, and what's there is what I need; The Islands of Solitudes from very very far away, too good, I want in.

    1. Or is he just in the way? Over his shoulder are the islands, not so far away once the obstructions are out of the way:)

  4. Yes, there is movement behind him...a creeping up...almost imperceptible at first...then becoming more obvious...until he is no longer alone.
Perhaps the others have left the Islands to bring him home...
