Second Week

Second Week

“R” posed again this morning in the same pose. He was more the thinker this time, than a kiss.

  1. Wow...he has the story behind him....interesting background....I like how the colors of his 'past' found reflection in the vibrant texture of his skin....

    1. A model on a grey stage sitting on a stool with a folding partition behind needs a story.. The colors sort of were on purpose..
      Thank you for noticing.

    1. He really had no choice in such a pose for so long. A lot of thinking had to be taking place☺
      Thank you

    1. I started with a fairly detailed sketch in acrylic ink. I almost stopped feeling quite satisfied with the sketch.
      Thank you

  5. It amuses me to see how you always choose the frontal poses. In this perspective, limbs are so awkward to draw..but you like it- don't you!I like the colors in this one.

    1. I do like being directly in front. The balance of light and shadow on the model is usually better for more of the potential poses. And I like the challenge. I’d rather deal with foreshortening than a long pose with fewer challenges.
      Thank you

  7. Yes...there is a lot of thinking going on...and perhaps a touch of Soul-searching too...I can tell his contemplation is of the deeper kind...he is totally absorbed...
I love the gorgeous warm colour of his skin...in comparison to the coolness around him. It is as if the sun is shining only on him! :)

    1. “R” did pull off being very deep in thought, and for a very long time.. He also for reasons I didn’t ask, still had a great tan for this far into winter. The sun (stage lighting) captured it well☺
