Retreat To When

Retreat to When

Replace today’s tomorrow,
a certainty
of the next compromise.

Retreat to when
a future
didn’t include a past.

Another sketch from the session with “R” yesterday.
A story in every wonderful pose.

    1. A goal for those who enjoyed their youth so much more than the challenges of old age.

  3. Oh how sad this one feels...and I'm sure that many of us can fully empathize...
Oh yes...I enjoyed my youth...and middle age has undoubtedly brought it's unfamiliar challenges...yet...there is a kind of "newness" and excitement to be discovered in overcoming them.
I like to think of life now as "different", but still with so much more to experience.
How I wish I could tell him these things...he really needs cheering up...:))

    Wonderful!!

    1. Your words express his pose very well.. Your perspective is a much better way to see the future than I have noted here.
      Thank you
