Unfinished Young Woman

Unfinished Young Woman

It was the first time with this model, ”LI”. I underestimated how much time it would take me, leaving most of her unfinished for this pose she provided the other day.

18”x 24” ink and watercolor

  1. I can't wait to see this one completed...there is already so much depth in the finished part...my eye is drawn upwards to her face...wow...such amazing cheekbones! :))

    1. I rarely attempt to do more once the model has ended the pose. So this will never be finished. This was sketched and painted in just over two hours with the model taking breaks every twenty to twenty five minutes. I should have either done a partial or worked on a smaller sheet of paper.

  2. Unfinished sketch calls for dual feelings: impatience to see finished and joy of given opportunity to finish it by visualising different ways... thank you!

    1. I agree. Also allows the artist a reprieve, stopping before going too far☺
