Almost Long Enough

Almost Long Enough

Sketched in a session not too long ago. A few poses were almost long enough, to add color rather than the usual ink scribbles I typically  resort to.
12”x 14” and 15”x 11” ink and a little watercolor

Unexpected Performance

Unexpected Performance

She offered,
when it was clear,
the model wasn’t
going to appear.

A performance
inspiring more
than expected models
could possibly
hope for.

I contemplate.
I wonder.
Maybe others
do too,
when the model
doesn’t appear.

From a session not too long ago that might have been canceled otherwise. A rather unexpected, pleasant experience.

Sort of Behind the Stage

Sort of Behind the Stage

A couple of sketches of the model performing in the center of a circle, and some on the circle as drawing him from my vantage point behind.
Had some extra time with only the back to sketch. Time to sketch in those in front too.
From a session attended yesterday morning.

Vantage Point For Gulls

Vantage Point For Gulls

Sketch from a visit to Barcelona at the beginning of the month.
The Fountain of Three Graces in Placa Reial in the Gothic Quarter.
One of the Graces is obviously hiding.
Located in the center of a square surrounded by restaurants with outside tables. A good place for gulls waiting for a recently vacated table, not yet cleared by the busy waitresses and waiters.

Another Place

Another Place

Left and followed
the performance,
traveling along
from the beginning.

Ignored the end,
in a sad attempt
to forget where
we started.

Sketches from a couple of the performances in yesterday’s session.
