I do think it’s more difficult for women than men though, as beauty and being desirable is made so much more import in our culture. I think beauty in youth is an instinctive enhanced trait for survival. It doesn’t last. Lasting beauty comes with living through and acceptance that being desirable isn’t as important as finding what’s beautiful in ourselves.
Thank you
Anthony Ducehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17476865809734682418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5083410851983192653.post-20440024762697653872013-07-11T19:06:53.296-04:002013-07-11T19:06:53.296-04:00I wonder if beauty takes a back seat as we age to ...I wonder if beauty takes a back seat as we age to some survival of the species scenario. Maybe in youth its more the beauty equates to desirability for obvious reasons. The beauty is still there as we age. There is just less desirability when at a basic level, survival is no longer in the cards? I do enjoying drawing “MA”. This sketch and thoughts of beauty was a good excuse..
Thank you
Anthony Ducehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17476865809734682418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5083410851983192653.post-8134183557453461752013-07-11T08:06:39.397-04:002013-07-11T08:06:39.397-04:00i recognized Maw immediately she is awesome and he...i recognized Maw immediately she is awesome and her daughters? trainees? you're the most interesting of allOut of Sight Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14153612060228196177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5083410851983192653.post-37651845212546964432013-07-11T07:18:07.526-04:002013-07-11T07:18:07.526-04:00Oh yes...how I relate to this...being a "yest...Oh yes...how I relate to this...being a "yesterday's queen" Haha:D
I like how you have placed her in front. That indicates to me that although no longer in the bloom of youth, she still has great value.
Thank you, Anthony. You have unknowingly worked wonders on my self-esteem!
I also like the male figure you have added to the centre.
