Early Port

Early Port

Searching for images in the past
of places that never were.
Well they were,
and they weren’t,
not as they were.

It is deciding now,
how they will look.
A search with
undecided lines
still wavering.

The curse
of seeing into the past
of a place
that never was.

  1. I really like the drawing [better than the poem] [which was also awesome] how long have you been drawing?

    1. Thank you for visiting, and liking my drawing (better then my poem)☺ the drawings find themselves, always have. Words have always been more of a struggle.
I have been drawing since childhood, with a long void after college when my drawings were mostly related to architecture. Seven years ago I went back to doing drawing of things I drew as a child, but adding the drawing of living people to the list.
      Like your sketches of faces..

  2. I see the boat at foreground...maybe it's beginning of journey ...in the past life....

    1. Working boats, old schooners, the reason for an early port. I’m sure the journey back then required more purpose, less a beginning, more a continuum.

    1. To see so much in these sketches is truly appreciated. I’m almost to a place where I can spend more time with dedicated sketches of the islands..
      Thank you

  6. There is a wonderful hideaway here...hidden in the reeds...a place accessible only through the deepest recesses of the imagination.
I would love to find this place someday...to lift the curse of linear time...

    Happy Sunday! :)

    1. I’m trying to find this place too. I’ve seen the bay where there once was a port long ago. It’s time, I agree time is a major obstacle to overcome. Some time imagination just isn’t enough.
