Up There

Up There

Up there
in a place,
in a space,
just far enough
above.
Temporarily
just enough
to be ignored.
Will be back
down
eventually.

Another quick sketch of “JA” from a session yesterday in the morning.

From the Edge

From the Edge

A silent story played
out to others wanting
more attention than me.
Though I’m convinced
what wasn’t said
made more sense
from the edge.

“ES”, a model I hadn’t sketched before, posed for the session I attended in the afternoon yesterday. The studio was crowded. I Found myself a pleasant obscure location off to the side of the stage.

Not Over Yet

Not Over Yet

What has to be said is avoided
for fear of being heard,
for fear of being over.
The threat lingers in the turn,
hoping the listener
can read minds.

A sketch from this morning’s session with “JA”.

Save

Save

The last chance to save
what will surely fade
in this continuous battle
between remembering
and reacting
to what comes next.
Saved to be forgotten
in an out of control
imaginary life.

A last minute quick portrait at the end of a long pose where too much time was spent sketching the rest of her. Form a session with “AR” not so long ago.

Getting Up

Getting Up

A time lapse of moments
like a fading dream
ignoring the sequence
and discipline to suggest
time was involved.

A bunch of quick gesture sketches at the beginning of a session with “RI” quite a long time ago.
