Unwelcome Answer

Unwelcome Answer

Even without the question
asked,
knowing either way
the answer will be
wrong.
Knowing either way
the answer will
end in sleep,
alone.

A Morning Pose, the Second Week

A Morning Pose, the Second Week

This morning “JN” was back for the second week, in the same costume, in the same pose.
Last week I painted her with watercolors. Todays working in acrylics, was more enjoyable.

And the Afternoon Before

And the Afternoon Before

I had backgrounds and a story in mind. As you can see, the pose ended while still defining legs. So she remained in the studio.
Another sketch of “B” even earlier this week, after being atop the vanishing warrior.

Morning and Afternoon

Morning

Afternoon

“B” was the model for two sessions I attended yesterday. These are of a longer pose from each of the sessions.
Change of hairstyle and maybe add clothing, maybe the time of day for her as well as for me, and two different women appear.
Morning: 18”x 24” oil sanguine
Afternoon: 9”x 12” fountain pen, oil sanguine and chalk on toned paper.

Atop a Vanished Warrior

Atop a Vanished Warrior

Surrounded by islands
On an isle of sacrifice
Waiting to be discovered
Preferring to be alone

A sketch of one of the poses “B” provided yesterday. The background was waiting to place her atop a vanished warrior.
