Recent
sketches of some poses from a session with “SH”.
Some
times the poses seem to play out as a story, here, from bottom to top.
You are very good at story telling, Tony!
ReplyDeleteOr maybe observing a story in the making☺

Love the whole story, my fave though 'argument' - contrast of bodies and postures, and 'ignoring self' deserves separate placement and thought...

DeleteThe short ballpoint pen sketches had the most impact for me too.
Wonderful ...

Deleteoh my gosh all the facets of oneself, the doubt the argument, all the phases of ignoring oneself, and then finally the dance, full of acceptance denial so rarely at peace, it is a true gift that you have...and sometimes that peace is achieved, but what torture before and you draw it all in perfect acceptance, i envy your abililty to put it down on paper...I am so rarely at peace...except sometimes in your drawings, thanks for that Anthony
ReplyDeleteIt was one of those sessions. She provided a different attitude in each pose.

I love the continuing story here...my favourite has to be "self doubt"...your wonderful sketch is precisely how that feels, isn't it: jarring, disjointed, chaotic...? I feel it all here...in black ink. She cannot find peace with herself...
ReplyDeleteSelf doubt jumped out in the sketch for me too.. So many more views of “self” are involved…
