Who Will Ever Know

Who Will Ever Know

Who will ever know?
Another hidden story.
It only exists within
a few minutes glimpsed
in the transfer of
many random lines.

I didn’t catch her name. She posed for a few sketches at a session I attended last night at a pub.

North Sea From Train

North Sea From Train

Thinking about gulls,
ruins in forest islands
between stone wall
enclosed fields,
the North Sea.
A train ride to and back
between Edinburgh and London
a few weeks ago.

Too lazy to take photos of the flashing imagery. Deciding I’d invent some images from memory or whatever the fountain pen perceived from the fragile connection it has with my brain.
A thumbnail sketch, an initial attempt. Will use paper that accepts watercolor the next time I have this urge.

Spider Web

Spider Web

Sometimes images form
in places unexpected
and then they are.
It happens when the spider
can’t decide.
A lack of confidence.
A few more lines.
Yes Sometimes.

And so this is a sketch of “EM” in a short pose from a session with her not so long ago.

Silent

Silent

The noise inside is deafening
with screams and curses,
and eventually tears
no one wants to hear.
Better out in this silent void
hearing the noise inside
going nowhere.

My sketch of the last pose of the day by “MA” in a session yesterday behind a yellow door.
12”x 15” ink and watercolor

Pretending

Pretending

In the middle of a search
for someone she once
pretending to be
a million years ago,
she stops
and stops
and stops
and stops
once more.

Some warm up sketches of a bunch of short poses from a session with “MA” yesterday.
