After Sketch

After Sketch

She was there all along
with flowers in her hair
waiting to be,
and wondering
I’m sure,
when she
would appear.

A couple of days ago “D” was posing again in the same pose she had been in the week before. I spent most of the session attempting to do another full figure sketch from a different vantage point in the studio. I eventually gave up with about twenty minutes left and let my pen wander sort of all over the place until she appeared just before the session ended.

Retired

Retired

Sketched “R” in a session this morning in a pose he proposed. He even supplied the beer. So, of course, I placed him on the shore.

Between Bays

Between Bays

A bay of invented ghosts
and a bay of imagined promises.
Solitude in hindsight
was on the actual
journey between.

It’s Spring. Took some time yesterday morning between invented and remembered bays to pretend I was on a shore somewhere in between.

Looking Back

Looking Back

Another Step

Another Step

Another step taken forward
through an imaginary
random colored haze.

My sketch of a standing pose “E” always does so well.
From a session with her yesterday afternoon.
