Disturbing Dirt

Disturbing Dirt

And ink and wash sketch from a session with “P”, not so long ago.
Difficult to determine a purpose for a pose like this. Maybe spearing an oblivious fish? Maybe harpooning a rare white whale?

9”x 12” ink and wash on cold press.

  1. Ha...for me, he is raking over the ashes of a fire...perhaps searching for some precious item burned impulsively in anger.
Well, there is such a sense of remorse...not just in his expression...by in his entire aura...

    I find this sketch strangely compelling...powerful. :)

  2. i find this surprising, because at first glance I thought he wore a mask, maybe to hide from inhaling some dirt or something dangerous, his look is almost weary but determined, love it always Anthony

    1. It does look like a mask. I didn’t have time to work on his portrait in the five minute pose.
      Thank you
