This
was the second Friday morning with “B” in the same pose. This week of course I
attempted painting her again, this time with acrylics. Last weeks ink and
watercolor was a lot more fun.
I like the colors contrast, yellow particular ..though she looks totally different from first sketch, but her integrity got underlined with this contrasting yellow...
There is something here that really speaks to me...not quite sure...maybe just a hint of defiance in her eyes? Is she finally standing up to whatever it is that has been holding her back...taking control of her life? For me, the answer could well be in the yellow. I'm sure you know by now how that colour affects me! *smiles*;)
This is why I love drawing and painting from life. A simple pose, and expression captured creates the beginnings of a story, some drama to be revealed. Who knew her selection of a yellow blouse would contribute so much. Thank you
Yes she sits. Another Friday morning. Another pose. Another colorful costume for those in the studio to pull out new tubes of paint and use. I will miss these Friday mornings someday. Miss you too☺
The sketches, paintings and sometimes the writing I post on this site express what needs to be known about me. I attempt to record on a daily basis what I observe, what I imagine, and sometimes what I dream about.
I hope you enjoy my art, and the dialogue.

ReplyDeleteYes I do enjoy the control of color when using acrylics, but miss the definition I can control better with ink and watercolors.

The way she sits and the way she looks around those gorgeous colours is magnificent, gosh I miss you!
