Standing Alone

Standing Alone

Otherwise hidden
in a crowd
if not designated
otherwise
as the attraction
now
even more alone.

Sketches from various life drawing sessions, not so long ago.

Death Sketch

Death Sketch

Thinking how much the lines
look like wires attached
and unattached.
Maybe by a magnet
connected off stage
to one of his toes?

No he lives.. A quick sketch from a session a while back.

Almost Gone

Almost Gone

Almost gone are the fickle memories.
What was and wasn’t going through
my clouded imagined
realities.

Ignored my own consuming thoughts
to escape instead into the person
he for me,
pretended to be.

Sketched from one of the shorter poses he played out, in a session not so long ago in the loft of a studio in Edinburgh.

Searching Continues

Searching Continues

Who they are is already written out.
Based on unreliable
and easily misplaced
random formed visions.
Some can be drawn
right out of my head.
Or so I thought.

Unfortunately most need more
coaxing to appear
as my unreliable
fickle left hand
refuses to understand
what I so easily sketched out
in my uncompromising
thoughts.

Some sketches from yesterday. Haven’t stopped to search in a while for the characters still waiting for a face.
Some more reference options. Though they don’t get me closer to whom I’m looking for. Two of these will probably replace faces of characters I thought I had already decided on.

Perching

Perching

Every so often
this sort of
stubbornness
shows through.
