Hiding the Horizon

Hiding the Horizon

How close I was,
practically crossing
between here and there.
That opposing invitation
behind her,
hindering the view,
just enough
to disappear.

“J” was the model this morning at the drop in life drawing session. I’ve sketched this view of her so often over the past year.
This is the first time of course, in the New Year.

With Bones

With Bones

Had a couple of sessions with “GR” today, sketching from his various poses. It’s good to be drawing from a model again. It’s been a while.
This pose had him with bones in each hand. I’m not sure why. We searched the studio for a human skull and ended up settling for a less interesting skull of a deer that has had better days.
His other hand held a thick leg bone. I don’t think it was human either.
