Island

Islands
off Solitude
Maybe
there are just moments, thoughts of more than escape, of being queens. Can the
islands have more then one?
I
did an ink on toned paper version of this composition early in July. This
attempt to paint this with acrylic on yuppo hasn’t worked out too well. It is
already pealing, and small scratches have appeared. So it looks like I will be
painting it again on canvas. I'm not happy with the colors anyway. Now i can try again.

oh but she has that royalty stoicism, that not matter what is thrown at you paint at all, you will not batter an eyelash..I love this no matter how it runs...the bearing, magnificent
ReplyDeleteWell, a better version of her is on the way...

I opened this painting in another window where I could enlarge it and see it up-close. In my humble opinion I truly like the colors, the look of the women and the feeling. I always have liked a painting that shows some character, with a few imperfections, like real life people have. But, you are the artist and if you are not happy with it...this is what matters most~
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI really don't mind the imperfections. i even like some of the mistakes. The image here doesn't show the pealing paint. The plastic surface I was working just doesn't handle the acrylic paints very well..
Gosh...yes...such a regal air these two have. There could be no other title for this painting!
ReplyDeleteTwo Queens? Why not? They compliment each other perfectly...:)
Those were my thoughts too.
