Walls
End
Beyond
the walls end
The
islands await
The
courage it takes
To
continue past
To
give in again
Another
sketch of “B” posing yesterday. She was against a blank wall, well lit. The
rest, just an idea, without enough time to finish before she wanted to sit.
The
Islands are on my brain, these days.
24”x
18” pastel pencil on colored charcoal paper
so beautifully drawn, seems so hesitant, why would she hesitate to go back to the islands, is it that she'll know she'll have to leave again and she doesn't she can bear the pain again? or does she feel like an intruder because she was able to leave, has she been shunned? this says so much I have trouble hanging to a thought
ReplyDeleteYour questions almost are enough to tell her story..

Very evocative.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Anthony! She really seems as if she is contemplating what she must do next~
ReplyDeleteThat what I was thinking too, when she was getting into the pose.

She seems to be longing to turn the corner of that wall...yet is nervous of what she may find there.
ReplyDeleteI think she will turn back?!
My though was that she has been past the end of the wall before. Sometimes it’s hard to face the past.
