Standing Alone
Not sure why I feel the need
to post this one of him.
Maybe it’s what the ink
from a new brush pen
achieved.
Maybe it’s the passing of time.
Knowing “G” from this sort of
artificial distance we maintain.
Him always the model.
Me always one of many
drawing him.
Both living in completely
different worlds
all these years.
Just one of many quick sketches
of “G” from a session not so long ago.
5”x 14” ink
Very nice, so openhearted drawing and words.

DeleteSeparate yet connected, artist to subject. He's standing like a rock!
ReplyDeleteYes, still in different worlds.
DeleteAbsolutely...a fascinating concept: that connection between artist and model...so intimate...and yet...on different planes.
ReplyDeleteAnd here, he stands alone...an aloneness that makes him feel rather uncomfortable.
Here is a man used to company! ;))
I do hope he isn’t as lonely as he appears to be.
