Substitute

Substitute

She was recruited
by a friend to sit
pretending she was
somewhere else.
And so she sat
posing for a friend,
and did so very well.

Sketched “MD” yesterday in a session the intended model couldn’t make. “MD”, though a little serious, did very well, admitting near the end, she would like to pose again.
12”x 18” ink and watercolor

  1. At first glance, I thought she was a nurse...her dress looked so like a nurse's uniform!
In fact, she is so like a nurse I saw last week at the hospital.
    Yes, a little serious...but a beautifully expressive model!😊😊

    1. She’s an art student at one of the local universities, younger than I was able to portray her. I think the dress was intended as some sort of fashion statement. I was too lost in the process of sketching her to make out the conversation she was having with others in the studio.
      Thank you
