Between Stories

Now fully exposed
the stories begin
to seem true.
What was ignored
is now being told.
It’s taken years.


Sketches of a couple of longer poses (25 min.) from the session with “R” last night.
Both: 11”x 14” ink with watercolor wash.

      Ah, those elusive stories!
      Before, there was only the endless waiting for them to be told.
      But now, hope is finally renewed...I can see it clearly, there, in his eyes.

      “R” reminds me of a grandfather who didn’t settle down to tell his stories until I was old enough, he hoped, to understand them☺
