What To Do

What To Do

A floppy feathered hat,
without the broom.
Fake flowers in a vase
on a blanket cover stool,
with way too many ideas
of what she should do.
And so contemplate,
she did for a long,
long time.

Sketched Friday morning with the Independent Painters Group.
The pose that should have never been. “D” was a trooper though, wearing a costume insisted upon by most, thinking the hat worked well with the upcoming holiday. As further punishment, fake flowers in a vase were placed on a blanket covered stool, to compete with the stranger she pretended to be. If only I had been in a more creative mood.
12”x 18” ink and watercolor

Fountain Pen: Platinum Carbon fine point

  1. Don't think there was much wrong with your creative mood...I see a beautiful bridesmaid, gazing at the flowers in the case and wishing she was the bride...and there is a figure to our right of her, just behind the vase, that looks very much like a bride from a bygone time...her deceased grandmother?
Ha, so much for imagination running riot! Lol
Whatever the story...this is wonderful 😊😊

    1. The creativity is what you have found. Love it☺
Actually the other figure was my attempt to capture her shadow. Was just sketching what I saw. I usually try harder☺
Thank you for seeing so much more…
