Second
Week in the Sun
This
morning with the Independent Painters Group “ST” was back in the studio for a
second week in the same pose on my improvised beach. Last week’s attempt to
paint him was in watercolor. Today from a slightly different vantage point I
painted him again in acrylic.
20”x
16” acrylic on canvas pad

O my! Too much sun to skin! And again the background just awesome! A castle? A mountaine? or else?
ReplyDeleteI guess I should have lightened up on the red and orange☺
DeleteThank you
I love, love the drawing it's amazing what different use of paint will increase or decrease the colour, right now I'd tell him hey get out of the sun you're burning up, still a true blue summer photos, wonderful, as always
ReplyDeleteIt is easier to apply more saturated colors when working with acrylics. I didn’t mean to burn him with the oranges and reds☺
DeleteThank you
And just look at that tan!! (Sorry, I can see I'm being boringly repetitive here ;))
ReplyDeleteAppears just a tad too much...rather painful, I imagine...but oh such glorious sun...and IS that a castle in the background blue haze?
I swear I see turrets..
Oh please don't tone the colours down...it is utterly fantastic exactly as it is!!
I appreciate the repetitiveness☺ Yes I know I over did it..
DeleteI’m obviously too close to the painting. I only see my sloppy brush strokes behind. I find it very humbling something more constructive has been conceived from my sloppiness☺
Thank you
Your 'improvised beach' looks quite real to me :) he looks perfect sitting out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteThe symbols from nature help imply what isn’t actually seen☺
