In Costume

Orbiting within patterns
of a social history
as our selves.

Evading the uncertainties,
of freedom to appear
as our selves.


Yesterday I had the opportunity to draw “M”, “The Queen” in two sessions, in what turned out to be similar poses, one restricted, the other free.
In: 12”x 18” ebony graphite and pastel on craft paper
Not: 18”x 24” ebony graphite, sanguine and chalk on colored paper

    Love the writing it is well deserved, Ma, Forever Queen,,,gosh i love your drawings of her, indeed we are not free, but the Queen is, and you draw her the way we wish to be, how wonderful
