Sharing Loneliness With a Friend

Sharing Loneliness With a Friend

If the story
they prepared her for
actually occurs,
her invisible friend
promises
to vanish
into thin air.

Sketched these two in a session yesterday afternoon. The only model on the stage was “MU”. She posed in what she calls her flapper dress, a costume she has posed in before, quite a while ago.
She looked sort of lonely and half the sheet of paper needed to be filled. So I added another face slightly behind to keep “MU” company.

14”x 17” ink and watercolor

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her flapper dress!!
I'm so glad you added the second face...being let down when she has made such an effort to dress up must have been devastating. A friend is always desperately needed at such times...especially one who understands when to exit unobtrusively.
A great story in the making here, I reckon...;))

    1. Thank you.
She needed a story after the effort put in to put together the costume for the pose.
