Waves and Boy
Huge boulders are lifted
from the sucking sand,
and hurled against
oncoming waves.
Maybe to stop them
From crashing
over an otherwise
undefended shore.
Flat stones picked out
From washed up pebbles
are skipped out
over the waves.
Maybe an agreement
to change the rules
in a game between
a boy and the waves.
Sketch of a grandson along the shores
of Lake Huron earlier this summer.

I really love this, Anthony...how vividly you have captured those beautiful waves...they are almost moving! This is so real...I can practically feel the breeze!😊😊

The words and the painting seem to come from the heart.
