This is the third and last sculpture I sketched this morning at the Victoria and Albert Museum. It will be the last for a while as we leave London tomorrow morning. The sculptor was Lawrence Macdonald. He completed it in 1850.

Louvre Pool Sitters

Louvre Pool Sitters

As an architect I probably should have been more interested in the pyramids on the Louvre plaza by I.M. Pei. I remember when they were built, seeing them in the architectural magazines in the early 90’s.

As you can see, last week while visiting Paris, those sitting on the pool walls around the main glass pyramid were more interesting, on a very warm afternoon.

L’Amerique du Sud

The sculptor of L’Amerique du Sud was Aime Millet.

This is the last of my sketches from my own sketches and reference photos of the Six Continent Sculptures at the entrance of the Musee D’Orsay. There are two sculptures I didn’t get to during my few days in Paris last week, L'Océanie and L'Europe. I may at some point do sketches of the remaining two from photos on the Musee D’Orsay website, just to have sketches of all six.
