“ST”
Expressions of Sorrow and Loss
Some sketches from this morning’s drop in life
drawing session. “ST” always does a few poses like these, playing out some dark
thoughts I hope he isn’t really having.
1st: 9”x 12” ink and chalk on
toned grey paper
2nd: 12”x 9” ink and chalk on
toned grey paper
3rd: 24”x 18” graphite on paper
I see it...specially the hands, leaned down head underline the sorrow...Very expressive sketches!
ReplyDeleteI agree. The hands can say so much in a pose.

I haven't checked in for quite a while. The really great news in that is the obvious improvement in what I see now in your work. There is nothing like being steady and constant in the practice is there? The practice is the work. Your hand is so much more sure now. Wowser! Just like me in the poetry. Another four hundred years and we might actually get this thing, no? Heh.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting again..
DeleteI think for both of us it is more experience than practice. The experience is knowing we need to do our forms of art whenever possible.
Thank you
Bonjour cher Anthony,
Gros bisous ❀ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❀
Thank you
DeleteThe emotions I may capture are reflections of what is viewed in the model, the pose, the idea projected with hopes passing on.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
It looks like such deep sorrow, and you show it to us so well, I'm just hoping that he feels nothing as bad as the suffering he seems to be in, really sensationally expressed Anthony
ReplyDeleteHe always has a few of these sad poses. They are the less energetic poses he provides near the end of a session. Most of his poses are very athletic and fun.
DeleteThank you
I really love these poses..couldn't be better!
ReplyDeleteHe is a great model.
DeleteThank you
Wow...these are almost too painful to witness...so powerful that they dredge up the memory of every loss and painful experience I have ever had...oh wow.
ReplyDeleteI think he must be a great actor...and you an even greater director...:)
He is a great actor, with years of practice pulling the sadness and sorrow out of the heavy air in the studio on the model’s stage.
