False Castles

False Castles

Used and abandoned
History forgotten
Rarely stormed

Another doodle sketch of thoughts that don’t surface as often anymore.

  1. I love it, I'd move in if I were sure no one would ever be around...oh my need of being alone will eventually kill me...

    1. Thank you
I was thinking of the difference between the throw away buildings of today compared to castles built to defend against the outside world. I should have been clearer in my explanation..
I’d love to be safely secure behind the history, the stone of an old castle, holding back the storm, maybe the crowds too☺

  2. Oh wow...I'd definitely storm this one...although definitely not in any aggressive way!
I'd just love to enter and soak up all that history and atmosphere...it would be sheer heaven.
    I say...thoughts...resume surfacing! ;)

    1. My head in putting together this post was in such a different place. I like you comments and appreciate seeing so much more now in the drawing.
It’s sort of funny. I was an architect for too long. I sketched the type of building most of my career has contributed too. Some of the early buildings after forty years are already abandoned. Some have been torn down, replaced with another generation of buildings also unable to protect or exist long enough for a decent history..

    2. Ouch! That must be painful...to see your creations come into physical being, only to be later torn down or abandoned.
So glad the same will never happen to your fabulous paintings and sketches...:)

    1. I guess any building can be a castle. It’s sort of a state of mind
