"GE" This Morning





“GE” This Morning
I like to sketch his portrait. He modeled at the drop in life drawing session I attend on Saturday mornings. 
1st: 12”x 9” ink on toned grey paper
2nd: 24”x 18” oil sanguine

    Or perhaps is is your amazing skill in portraiture that creates the power in his poses...
    There is such dignity, such bearing...oh WOW :)

    1. He does have a regal bearing, I agree. I love to draw him. He has many challenges. he has had to be strong to endure.
      I do think his strength shows through.

  2. Straining to climb, and straining to rise up,what has he been doing in your mind to cause such effort? good ones, great ones, always have to rise, maybe he's tired of being great....

    1. The pose for the first drawing was well acted out. I do like the implied drama. I’m not sure what he was thinking as he settled into the pose. He’s not much of a talker, a true artist. He converses more through his poses.
