I love the first. You've captured the lines of a golfer's body I feel I know in my head from having spent time on courses some years ago. If I were to write a golfer, I'd want him to be written to the lines yours does. The hat, the one foot up, even his proportions make him real and character at once. Does he love these sketches? I have to ask!
I suspect these poses were easier than most for “RD”. He is or was once an active golfer. He models so often for both session I attend and those I organize. I’m sure he liked these sketches. Though, he comments more on other drawings and paintings I have done of him that he would like to see displayed or entered in shows.
WOW he must love golf, it makes all the difference to this elderly man, seeing on how much younger he looks in the second drawing where he might have played a round, Genius, Anthony x
I know he played, or still plays. I’m not sure he loves playing. I would suspect it more the competition he enjoys, probably more so on a good day☺. I suspect he played more often when a much younger man. Thank you
He really DOES look so much younger in the second one...perhaps a trick of the light...maybe the background golf course - a testimony to his many years of experience... I imagine a conversation with him would be incredibly interesting.:)
Both sketches were done within the forty minute length of the same pose. About twenty minutes was spent on each. I think the lines are more contrasting in the first pose, softened in the second. He is an interesting guy.
The sketches, paintings and sometimes the writing I post on this site express what needs to be known about me. I attempt to record on a daily basis what I observe, what I imagine, and sometimes what I dream about.
I hope you enjoy my art, and the dialogue.
