Still Pretending

Still Pretending

This afternoon “S” posed pretending to play an old mandolin. A slightly different pose, though the playing hasn’t improved.
She was pretending to play this mandolin with only a few strings back in June of last year. She needs a new prop.
14”x 17” ink and watercolor

  1. Such a beautiful, colourful sketch...and she doesn't look as if she's pretending at all.
If we listen carefully, the musical notes can actually be heard...:))
I'm wondering what her next prop will be?
    Will be watching this space...;)

    1. Thank you.
Maybe it is easier to imagine the music from a distance away. The mandolin prop she held lacked the strings I attempted to show.

  2. Bonsoir cher Anthony,

J'aime beaucoup la pose de votre modèle... Auriez-vous aimé qu'elle joue de son instrument pendant la pose ?
Pas facile le dessin de ses mains. Bravo !
Elle parait très songeuse... C'est une très belle aquarelle.

    Gros bisous

    1. Her pose was an enjoyable challenge. Yes the hands moved too much to work out as I would have liked.
      Thank you
