Day
with “MA”
I
was at a life drawing session with “MA” today. I have drawn her often,
sometimes referring to her as “The Queen”, or “Yesterday Queen” when I post her
on my blog.
She
played the role again today.
Both:
12”x 16” pastel pencil on grey toned pastel paper
A bare glimpse of sadness only to shake it off quickly and hide her feelings I feel for her, you are awesome
ReplyDeleteShe does look deep in thought.

Finally I remembered to post my painting of a sky reflecting on the river, I called it My Island of Solitude inspired by you put your title on, so go see it and leave your link it'll be easier for them to get to, well whoever eventually visits lol
ReplyDeleteI like your painting. It is wonderful. I see your islands. I see mine.. Beautiful work..
DeleteI, too, was touched by the apparent sadness in her eyes.
ReplyDeleteI do hope it was only for the pose.
She is so beautiful...a beauty that only maturity can bring permeates her entire being, and you have captured it's essence perfectly in these two sketches.
An absolute masterpiece!:)
“MA” has lived, I think an exciting and long life as a model. There is a history that shows in her poses. I’m sure some are sad, maybe more now, as they are memories of times that can’t be relived.
