“J”
A Few Days Past
A
coupe of days ago she danced, made a stand, pondered, acting out each pose. I
sketch each performance, like a million times before.
1st:
24”x 18” gestures in graphite, sanguine and colored pencil
2nd:
16”x 18” graphite
3rd:
9”x 12” ink on toned grey paper
She moves so gracefully across the paper...then comes to rest in stills that breathe life and catch the light. I am aware of her heartbeat and her every tiny muscle movement...I have come to know her so well...:)
ReplyDeleteSo well expressed. You’ve made the session so much more exciting.
DeleteI have come to know her well too. I draw “J” so often.
Thank you
Sing sing a song dance along then stop she makes me want to move, that's always a good thing love this
ReplyDeleteThe song is in the background tempting her to dance, as she becomes a statue for moments at a time so we can draw her.
DeleteThank you
The first picture makes me ponder: what if we could record graphically all movements of our body/or another during the day...
ReplyDeleteSecond shows the character very bold and expressive, and yes you said: she danced.
Third - silent concentration, such a focusing within...
Oh yes she can portray all you express, or imagine. The challenge here is being as able to translate all she can do onto paper.
